Today, I wanted to talk about a cute little Unforgettable Face and Story that just joined our office, Romeo……but something changed tonight……I was on FaceBook and someone posted the attached photo of a college that is where the site of my first home was built by my dad. It burnt down…not even sure when. Most of you are aware that I started this series when my dad died. I remember that home that he built with his sweat inch by inch. It was absolutely gorgeous…setting back on a hilltop in our neighborhood. We left that home when I was in the first grade for reasons I will get into at another time. I can tell you every nitch and cranny of that home. It hit me in the face as sometimes memories do when you least expect it. Yes, I cried and cried thinking about it and I was taken back quite frankly. Through all these years I never knew that piece of my family history. How much of your family history do you know? I urge you to gather as much as you can. That is one of my missions now. My dad’s mom died when she was only 31 and my dad was three months old…..what was she like, where was she born…..all these things that I do not know….some people say…does it really matter? To me at this point in my life, yes it does…….there are so many Unforgettable Faces and Stories in our life……..I so look forward in reading and seeing yours………and Romeo….you will meet him next week!!!!

Here's one of the T-Shirts with drawings from the 3rd graders in Fort Edward, NY thanking First Responders! What an amazing afternoon it was sharing with them and seeing and hearing them talk about First Responders. They are also featured in "Patriots of Courage, Tributes to First Responders"
