“In July 2013, I met one of the strongest, inspiring young man that I have ever met in my life. Ret. Spec Justin P Lane aka “JP”. JP joined the military in 2008 and in 2010 he was deployed to Afghanistan. His job was one of the most dangerous ones of all. He was to go and search for IED’s. (Improvised explosive devices) On July 2, 2011, JP was blown up 3 times, the last one almost ended his life. JP was in a coma for 6 weeks and when he woke up, he was missing both his legs, a few fingers, had a tracheotomy, his pelvis was dislocated, and most of his torso was destroyed by shrapnel. His life was completely changed. The doctors said he would have speech problems and he would never be able to sing”.
