Always a courageous man, Doc fought a lengthy illness with passion and when I was visiting him, usually with a smile and a quick wit. Even in spite some hard days, I am told his sense of humor never faltered and he continued to talk with friends and family from all over the world.

Scot was a member of the then highly classified Studies and Observation Group known as SOG in the Military Assistance Command – Vietnam (MAC V) where he earned his nickname”Doc” that would follow him for the into Diplomatic Security Service(DSS) and throughout his career.
